Police investigate Route 9 accident in Hyde Park — Peekskill Health news

HYDE PARK Police are investigating an accident on Albany Post Road (Route 9) in Hyde Park that seriously injured a pedestrian Tuesday evening.  Just before 6 p.m., Hyde Park police responded to Albany Post Road near Dairy Queen for a report of a woman who had been struck by a car. A witness reported that the pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle, tossed into the air, and landed on another vehicle. First responders located the victim, who had sustained serious injuries, provided triage, and transported her to a local hospital for treatment of traumatic injuries. Hyde Park police indicated that the driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. The New York State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit assisted the Hyde Park police in the ongoing investigation.
